To już co prawda jest w temacie o WAB'ie, ale tutaj pozwalam sobie wrzucić razem z armiami których używałem do testów. Z góry przepraszam, że po angielsku, ale nie chce mi się całości tłumaczyć. Mam nadzieje, że niedługo Jeff Jonas, autor podręcznika 'Alexander the Great' wrzuci to, zgodnie z obietnicą, na swoją stronę
www.ancientbattles.com.
W przypadku jakichkolwiek pytań co tych list - proszę pytać w temacie WAB albo na priva, chętnie odpowiem.
ALTERNATIVE ARMY LISTS TO ‘ALEXANDER THE GREAT’
I. Parmenion's Vanguard in Asia - 336-334 BC.
Expeditionary force send by king Philip to Asia was led by his trusted general, Parmenion. Corps was not big, from 7000 to 10 000 infantry and up to 1000 cavalry. Parmenion was firstly fighting against Athenian allies in Proportis (Sea of Marmar), then he was ordered by king to prepare 'safe ground' for planned invasion of Persia. It is probably that some part of that corps was withdrawn to Macedonia after Philip's death, but rest, still led by Parmenion, fight against Persian forces until spring of 334 BC. Parmenion's forces welcome main Macedonian forces after they cross the Hellespont and vanguard cease to exist as a independent force.
We can only speculate what kind of formations were part of Parmenion's forces. There is some evidence that Greek Mercenaries were main part of vanguard, it is also possible that Parmenion was in charge of some Prodromoi and allies/mercenaries from Thrace.

- 0-2 Prodromoi (you don't need Companion Cavalry to field them, both units can be upgraded with kontos) - according to wall-painting from tomb from Noussa in Central Macedonia we can suppose that some Prodromoi fight against Persian during Philip’ reign.
- Light Cavalry
3. Phalangites - up to 25%:
- only Pezhetairoi can be taken (no Agema upgrade, no drilled unites) - some Phalangites could be fighting in that area (especially against Athenian allies) and return to Macedonia at the beginning of Alexander's reign.

II. Antipater's Army in Macedonia and Greek - 334-322
Antipater was royal regent left in Macedonia, his main mission was to ensure peace in occupied Greece. Alexander was forced to leave with Antipater almost half of original Macedonian army - six TAXEIS (battalions) of Pezhetairoi (probably they were recruited from Central Macedonia and composed of more reliable soldiers) and some light troops - about 12 000 infantry at all plus about 1500 Macedonian cavalry - mostly Companions (Hetairoi).
Antipater's task wasn't easy - Greek were trying to recover their independence. He defeated revolt led by king Agis of Sparta in a bloody battle of Megalopolis in 331 BC, mostly thanks to large sum of money that Alexander sends him from Persian loot- that helps Antipater in hiring mercenaries from Greece. After Alexander's death, Antipater led Macedonian to victory against Athens and Thessaly in Lamian War in 322 BC, crushing revolt in battle of Crannon.

- As soon as Alexander could send money captured in Persia to Macedonia, Antipater start to hire Greek Mercenaries. It help him to enlarge his army (we must remember that he had to send reinforcements to Alexander from time to time) and prevent king of Sparta Agis from recruiting them for his planned war against Antipater.

III. Antigon Monopthalmos as a satrap of Phrygia - struggle against Nabarzanes.
One of Alexander's most able and trusted officer, he became satrap of Persian Phrygia in 331 BC. Antigon received about 1500 soldiers from Alexander (probably his command was mostly from Greek mercenaries and League troops) and had to cover communications line of main army when Alexander's army ventured into Syria and Palestine. His small corps (hard to call that 'army') was forced to fight against Persian army led by satrap Nabarzanes and recruited from Capadocia and Paphlagonia. Antigon also recruit some Persian levies to enlarge his force and he fight three battles against Nabarzanes. Persian army was vanquished in those engagements which showed that Alexander choose good man to rule Phrygia.

These are forces that usually were led by king Alexander in powerful thrusts that crushed Persian forces and help Macedonian side to defeat Persia.
