Hi,

Rapid Fire is rules design primary for WW2 1:72/20mm figures.
Fast system, simple but respect historic realist ! This is first edition, but exist more improvement edition.
http://www.rapid-fire.uk.com/index.htm

I know AlzoZero , but no good historic rules. Italeri/Zvezda have not experience with creation wargaming rules. Our wargaming club play with Rapid Fire rules. Rapid Fire are for us sufficient.

FOW (Flame of War) is no good WW2 rules too. System is adoptable with warhammer :(

In Rapid Fire rules throw a D6 only once dice D6 - for unit (figures-company) when small arms fire (MG, rifles, pistol). In FOW throw dice each of figures (D6=number figures).
Rapid Fire quicky, simply, realistic (see playsheet Rapid Fire).

I have rules for modern+Vietnam: Rapid Fire Modern (link up) and Spearhead Modern Rules (only for 6-10mm figures)

Ok.
My first question comes from pure curiosity. I haven`t been playing with any mechanised warfare skirmish game, before.
Never, regardless OWWII, Rapid Fire, or WH40k. Well, maybe i`ll start, someday.

So, can you explain what exactly makes Rapid Fire historical accurate, and Alzozero`s OWWII historical innaccurate?

Designer`s experience? Well, in fact, designer`s mark means nothing to me. It`s only mark.

Unit statistics? Playsheet? Game mechanics? Ok, these factors really makes difference.

I have OWWII on my PC. I like these rules, they are fast, simply, elegant and quite realistic, especially whet it comes to giving orders and soldiers "psychology". And i really feel tempted to getting into it, maybe with some crazy Societ Army.

Now I downloaded Rapid Fire, but I`m still pretty unsure.

So, back to my question:

Why, exactly, I should play Rapid Fire, instead of Operation World War II?

Can you convince me?

Hi,

OK. First download rules Rapid Fire and read this rules.
After Understand. Games rules must be quicky, simply and realistic. With minimum fortuity. No take a card (AlzoZero)
This three element have rules Rapid Fire accomlish 100%.

I recommend you read first rules and playsheet. After you can demo play with your friend.

Rules AlzoZero (Italeri) create company without experience with rules. Italeri is hobby model company. Italeri up to do present time no experiece with rules :!: System rules come out GW.

I dont write english so good to explain in english. Only czech explain.

I have playing on the PC: Stell Panters WIN Main Battle tank/WW2, hardcore strategy games.

i disagree on realistic part

IMHO they should give realistic outcome, and being realistic is cool but extra bonus factor

wach Main panzer - uber realistic - Yes
Gives historical outcomes ? - no

Wach DBM - realistic ? hell no, totaly abstract
gives realistic outcomes ? Yes
(exept tournament rules tweaking, and uber anachronic maches)

so IMHO being realistic at most times just bog down or gives stupid results becouse writers forget to take into account some important factor
(like that of removing 2 extra HMG from Stuart Tank becouse they were useless -in aforementioned Main Panzer)

OWW2 were made by Massimo Toriani, (i hope I didn't misspelled), not by Italeri. Italeri just snapped him (and his rules being prepared).
Now, after 2-3 years of playing and correcting errors, they are somewhat different from what was in the begining. And they are not supported by Italeri.
